Brentwood

An affluent but tranquil neighborhood for fitness junkies, dog owners, and health-obsessed foodies.

Brentwood is a true haven for those who want a clean, active community with something for everyone. The residents here are diverse from millennials who can afford a higher price tag to growing families looking for a safe, welcoming community with kid-friendly activities. There are boutique fitness studios on every block (usually right next door to each other) and everyone here owns a bike, running shoes, or rollerblades (or at least looks like they do). There are also several top schools in the area, including public schools like Community Magnet Charter Elementary School and Warner Avenue Elementary School, as well as several private schools.

Brentwood really does have something for everyone and is a great place for newcomers as it is primely located to enjoy everything that LA has to offer. There are several beaches nearby including Venice Beach, Santa Monica Beach, Malibu Beach, and the Pacific Palisades – whether you prefer a relaxing day on the sand or a more aggressive outdoor workout. The homes range from mid-century modern and Spanish-style single family homes, to larger apartment complexes and residential developments. There is no shortage of places to eat in the area, from five-star steak and sushi, to a family-packed Neapolitan pizzeria, farm-to-table brunch spots, and of course, every smoothie and acai bowl option possible for a quick post-yoga fuel. Many restaurants are organic, raw, vegan and gluten-free to fit with the overall vibe of the residents. There is also the Brentwood Farmers Market on Sundays where residents flock and line up early in the morning to snag the best produce and flowers before they sell out. It may be the only time you will see a fight break out in this peaceful community. Kidding. There are plenty of avocados to go around.
